This is a lovely tale of a friendly dog!
"In August I visited family in Montespertoli, Italy. A frequent visitor to the villa was Scrapa, the biggest and gentlest yellow lab I've ever met. He showed up each day at about 6pm, just as we would be sitting down to dinner, on a large patio overlooking Tuscan fields glided in late afternoon sunlight, and he would recline regally while we dined.
No one knew where he was from, but presumably from one of the neighboring farms. He never begged, but came seemingly for the love and affection that we doled out as freely as we did the chianti. He was a big hit and quickly became a favorite part of our evenings. Italian sociality! *Eh Scrapa, buono cane!!"
