An Ode to Tug
You have been by my side
for the past 9 years;
Through all the good and the bad,
My laughter and my tears.
I knew that you were hurting,
A cure, not meant to be;
So I had to let you go
Even though it's killing me.
Your life was cut far too short,
And now we are apart;
Gone, but never forgotten,
Your paw prints always on my heart.
After a brief but valiant battle with bone cancer, Tug crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, February 7th at Beaches Animal Hospital.
He will be missed the most by his Mommy and human family; and also by his canine siblings, his "sisters" Daisy and Reba, and "brothers" Buddy and Mickey; and also by many, many friends and neighbours and even the cats. Anyone that had the pleasure of making his acquaintance always remarked how beautiful and well behaved he was. He loved meeting and greeting people, Wendy's junior bacon cheeseburgers, his walkies and showing off the tricks that he knew.
He departed this earth far too soon, and has left Husky-sized holes in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Many thanks to Dr. Mark Dilworth of Beaches Animal Hospital for giving me one last Christmas with my "blue eyed, brown eyed boy"; and the wonderful staff of BAH for their compassion during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Tug.
