I am new to the world of ponds and pond fish so I have to tell you that it was my lucky day when I found a store an hour from here that specializes in both! And what nice folks - wow!
The Pond Clinic in Ottawa is a business that cares!
Ali and Trevor
Ali was the first person I met when I walked in the store. I was looking for a variety of plants including a waterlily. The selection of plants at the store is considerable. Ali took the time to explain the conditions needed for each plant I chose. The next time I came in I think I was picking out butterfly koi. Ali and Cassandra showed great patience while I made my choices. I plied them with questions about the fish I was getting, the best food to feed them, how to keep my water clean, why I should not worry that my "beginner" pond had turned green. They told me not to worry, plants, and beneficial bacteria in the pond would soon help. Their guidance was exemplary.
I have been back many times, bought more koi and the beautiful shubunkin "Pongo" (see photos of my fish) These people never steer me wrong. I am even getting to know the fish in their display pond!

The resident fish at The Pond Clinic
I am so impressed I asked if they would mind if I took a few photos for my blog. Cassandra wasn't in that day, but here are Ali and Trevor. Thanks Guys!
